“Reports that Ford is deepening its partnership with CATL, despite its ties to Uyghur forced labor, are extremely disappointing. The American people deserve better from an iconic US company that receives massive taxpayer subsidies. Ford needs to call off this unethical deal for good.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and six other members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party wrote to congressional leadership Sunday, arguing that Congress must match its funding priorities to the nation's most pressing national security priority-- deterring the Chinese Communist Party. 

Rep. Neal Dunn (R-FL), Dusty Johnson (R-SD), Darin LaHood (R-IL), Ashley Hinson (R-IA), Michelle Steel (R-CA) and Carlos Gimenez (R-FL)  also signed on to the letter sent to Speaker Mike Johnson, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

According to recent news reports, this decision came in the context of differences between Apple and Mr. Stewart regarding potential content for the show, including content about the People’s Republic of China. The New York Times reported, “Mr. Stewart told members of his staff... that potential show topics related to China and artificial intelligence were causing concern among Apple executives.”
