WASHINGTON, DC – While Ford Motor Company announced on September 25 that it has paused its partnership with a Chinese battery maker, lawmakers continue to have serious concerns that Ford has refused to comply with three separate congressional inquiries into its secret licensing agreement with CATL, a Chinese Communist Party-aligned EV battery firm.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-- In July, the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party opened an investigation into Ford’s proposed licensing agreement with CCP-aligned electric vehicle battery maker, CATL. Rep. Mike Gallagher, Chairman of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, released the statement below following reports that Ford will pause the agreement.

The lawmakers specifically scrutinized the Department for greenlighting new plans for a Michigan battery factory owned and operated by CCP-backed, Gotion High-Tech Co.
