TOKYO, JAPAN — Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, alongside Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA), Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY), Rep. Brian Babin (R-TX), and Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) traveled to Japan this week to express support for the U.S.-Japan alliance and discuss ways our two countries can work together to combat the Chinese Communist Party’s rising military, economic, and ideological aggression.

In his meetings with Japanese officials, Chairman Moolenaar raised the need for increased security cooperation to preserve a free and open Indo-Pacific, and urged the Japanese government to continue its work to push back on the CCP’s malign economic agenda.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) sent a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin requesting that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) immediately place CATL on the Section 1260H list, which exposes Chinese entities operating in the U.S. that have ties to the PLA or contribute to the Chinese Communist Party’s Military-Civil Fusion Strategy.

Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party wrote to the CEO of Anzu Robotics, demanding answers about his company’s relationship with People’s Republic of China (PRC) military drone company, DJI. In separate correspondence to Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, the lawmakers outline overwhelming evidence of Anzu’s concerning relationship with DJI and request that the Commerce Department consider steps to address the threat of Anzu, along with a similarly problematic drone maker, Cogito Tech Company Ltd.

Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party requested information from the FDA about the alarming practice of U.S. biopharmaceutical companies conducting clinical trials alongside the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and in Xinjiang, where the CCP is engaged in genocide of the Uyghur people. Reps. Neal Dunn, M.D. (R-FL) and Anna Eshoo (D-CA) joined the inquiry, in which the lawmakers raised serious concerns that the PLA is co-opting sensitive intellectual property through these clinical trials and questioned the ethics of conducting these trials in Xinjiang.

Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party identified the growing risk posed by Chinese Wi-Fi routers in the United States manufactured by TP-Link Technologies and called on the Department of Commerce to verify this threat and investigate the company.
