WASHINGTON, D.C.- Today, Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), and members of the Select Committee on the CCP hosted a roundtable discussion with experts at an event titled, "The Chinese Communist Party's Propaganda and Censorship".
The Select Committee was joined by witnesses Ms. Sarah Cook, Senior Advisor for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan at Freedom House, Dr. Matthew Johnson, Research Director at Garnaut Global, and Ms. Bay Fang, President, Radio Free Asia.
On Wednesday, July 19th, Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party will host a thunderdome debate with policy experts on trade and economic engagement with China. The event will feature two bipartisan, two-person teams debating three main policy areas, including: China trade relations, technology exports controls, and investment flows. Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) will moderate. The Hon. Christopher Padilla, former Under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S.
Yesterday, Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and members of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party held an interfaith roundtable on the CCP's threat to religious freedom. Members and distinguished guests discussed the CCP's persecution towards Christian, Muslims, Tibetan Buddhists, and others unwilling to put the decrees of Xi Jinping ahead of their god.
