The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party will hold a roundtable titled "The Future of Hong Kong: U.S. Policy Going Forward" on May 23rd at 2:30 p.m., E.T. in Room HC-5 of the U.S. Capitol Building.
The Select Committee’s Critical Minerals Policy Working Group, led by Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) and Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL) will hold its second meeting, Wednesday, July 10, from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. to discuss the United States’ heavy reliance on Chinese imports of critical minerals, working with our allies to create alternative supplies of these minerals, and policy solutions to incentivize this shift.
This afternoon, the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party's Critical Minerals Policy Working Group, led by Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) and Rep. Kathy Castor (D-FL), held its fourth meeting to explore how recycling, domestic recovery, and non-traditional sources can strengthen the sustainability and resilience of critical mineral supplies vital to national industries and technologies. The discussion covered recent advancements in recycling technologies, the economic incentives to promote domestic recovery, and alternative sources of critical minerals.
Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party and Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) will speak on a panel at the Alexander Hamilton Society's event "Back in Class: Foreign Funding & Malign Influence on U.S. Higher Education" on September 23rd at 6:30 p.m., E.T.
The panel discussion will focus on malign foreign efforts to influence the American higher education system.
On Wednesday, July 12, Select Committee on the CCP Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) will host an interfaith group of prominent American religious leaders from the Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Buddhist faiths to discuss the CCP’s persecution of religious believers in an event titled, "The CCP’s Threat to Religious Freedom: An Interfaith Discussion". The event will also feature several religious leaders from China who can share their firsthand experiences being persecuted by the CCP.
