Select Committee Video Details China’s Support for Iran

September 22, 2026

The Select Committee on China has released a video on China’s support for Iran and how it helps the regime in Tehran evade oil sanctions and use satellite imagery to strike U.S. troops.

The video is based on the Select Committee's investigative findings detailed in the report “Crude Intentions: How China Became the Clearing Market for Sanctioned Oil,” as well as a letter about China providing satellite imagery support to Iran. As the committee concluded, the Chinese Communist Party keeps the economies of Iran and Russia afloat while fueling its own authoritarian agenda.

The video, which has already been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on X, declares “China’s dark fleet is an economic lifeline, shipping illegal oil to bypass sanctions.” It also notes that China “helps Iran with satellite imagery and targeting data for attacks on U.S. military assets in the Middle East,” which was again confirmed by reporting earlier this month.

The video is posted on all of the committee’s social media platforms.
