Moolenaar Urges Europe to Ban Chinese Telecom Equipment

Chairman John Moolenaar of the Select Committee on China made the following statement after China threatened economic retaliation against the European Union for its plans to ban Chinese telecommunications equipment: 

“China is pointing a loaded gun at Europe and telling it to keep using Chinese telecom equipment or face punishment. This blackmail shows exactly why CCP-controlled entities cannot be trusted to be a part of the free world’s critical infrastructure in Europe or anywhere else. Chinese telecom equipment is a security threat to all nations and European leaders should stand firmly for their own national security interests against China. I urge them not to bow to CCP pressure,” said Moolenaar.
