Moolenaar Releases Statement on Former USAF Officer Arrested for Training Chinese Pilots

Chairman John Moolenaar of the Select Committee on China has released the following statement on the Department of Justice bringing charges against former United States Air Force officer Gerald Brown, who was arrested for training Chinese pilots:

"The U.S. military trusted Gerald Brown to use his elite training to protect our country, and he is charged with betraying that trust," said Moolenaar. "He allegedly used his skillset to train Chinese pilots, giving them expertise that could be turned against our military one day. This case again highlights how China targets servicemembers and Americans from all walks of life to steal information and innovation from our country. The Trump Administration is doing critical work to investigate and prosecute Chinese espionage and I hope justice is determined quickly and fairly.
