Chairman Moolenaar Supports Department of War's Adoption of Sweeping Research Security Prohibition
The Select Committee on China supports recently announced changes at the Department of War (DoW) that will strengthen research security for federally-funded projects. The department’s policy for fundamental research awards now prohibits collaboration with any entity on a U.S. government restricted entity list which is a significant and long-sought reform to safeguard federally funded research from exploitation by America’s adversaries.
“President Trump and Secretary Hegseth are protecting our nation and taxpayer dollars by prohibiting the Pentagon from funding research collaborations with Chinese military entities. This is a commonsense policy and I will continue leading efforts in Congress to make sure it becomes law and applies to all administrations,” said Select Committee Chairman John Moolenaar.
