This morning, The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is holding a hearing titled "Rebuilding the Arsenal of Democracy: The Imperative to Strengthen America’s Defense Industrial Base and Workforce" in room 2176 Rayburn House Office Building.

Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party alongside U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE), and Rep. Andy Barr (R-KY) wrote to Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, calling on her administration to establish sister city ties with Taipei, Taiwan.
The Global Taiwan Institute convened a high-level panel to discuss the longevity and elasticity of the Taiwan Relations Act in an increasingly volatile strategic environment. The event began with keynote remarks from Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI), followed by a panel discussion featuring David Stilwell (US Air Force Academy), Josh Cartin (Atlantic Council), and Ryan Hass (Brookings Institution).
Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party wrote to Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hicks, recommending innovative solutions to counter Xi Jinping's historic military build up and threats to Taiwan. Xi Jinping has ordered the Chinese military to be ready for an invasion by 2027. Recent war games show the United States would run out of key weapons in a matter of days during a Taiwan invasion scenario.

Last October, at the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping set a deadline for his generals:
Be prepared to invade Taiwan no later than 2027.
Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and six other members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party wrote to congressional leadership Sunday, arguing that Congress must match its funding priorities to the nation's most pressing national security priority-- deterring the Chinese Communist Party.

I’m honored to join three storied voices of the Chinese democracy movement.
To be honest, I feel out of place. It’s easy to say critical things about the Chinese Communist Party when you’re a politician in America. It’s easy to tell yourself that you’re standing up for truth.
Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Chairman of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, and Rep. Young Kim (R-CA), Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Indo Pacific, today sent a letter to Secretary of the Navy, Carlos Del Toro, calling on the Navy to speed up the production and sale of weapons Taiwan needs to defend itself in the instance of a Chinese Communist Party invasion, like Harpoon and SLAM-ER missiles.
